Vinayan who has delivered several hits with newcomers is trying his luck once again with a bunch of new faces in his latest film Yakshiyum Njanum. Debutantes Goutham, Ricky, Shanil, Jubil and Meghna are being introduced in this film. Yakshiyum Njanum starts with Minister Madhavan (Sphadikam George) arriving along with his son Ranjith (Jubil) to consult astrologer Narayanji (Thilakan) regarding the bad omens that have been plaguing his estate. The Minister believes that these omens have an evil impact even on his ministership. Hence he has arrived to seek the advice of Narayanji who had earlier bailed him out of a similar situation. The Minister has several secrets to hide, the most prominent one among which is that he has provided shelter to a young man who is the chief accused in a murder case. Shyam, (Gautham) the youngster is a notorious goon for whom a man hunt has been launched by the local police. Meghna plays the beautiful ghost in the film who falls in love with Shyam. Vinayan has scripted the film himself and has penned the dialogues as well. Yakshiyum Njanum is the first film in Malayalam that has been shot using the Red camera. Chennai based E-Effects are in charge of the graphics works of the film. Ad photographer Navaz is the cinematographer.
